Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It’s set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and rainforest. The city’s heart is scenic Kandy Lake, which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession.
- Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
You will be picked up from your hotel in Colombo & proceed to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. It is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. at the moment there are about 95 Elephants in the Orphanage). On the visit to the herbal centre of spice garden. Students of Ayurveda will explain different uses for each herb.
- Technical Tours
Next you will be going on technical tours to see the crafts of some of the traditional artisans of Kandy; such as the gem crafters, wood carvers and batik makers. You will get to see the process of how the they do their work, and will be able to purchase some great souvenirs (if you wish) too.
- Temple of Tooth Relic
In the afternoon, you can visit the temple of Tooth Relic. The Temple of Tooth Relic is the World Heritage Site that houses the sacred Tooth relic of Buddha. After That Visit Kandy museum visit and a leisurely walk by the Kandy Lake.
- Kandy View Point & Cultural Show
In the Evening Visit that Kandy View Point. Climb the hill by Kandy Lake to reach Kandy view point and receive a view of the city that cannot be beaten. As a popular tourist spot, the area brings in a large amount of peddlers, though they often sell sub-par items. The last stop is Gem Museum and Kandyan cultural show. After the tour is concluded, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Colombo or Bandaranaike Airport.
