Right after breakfast, advance to Rathmalana located in Colombo to visit the Blind school. After the brief visit to the blind school, the next visit would be to the Sri Lanka Air Force Museum which is open to the General Public. The primary focus of museum is to provide unparalleled service to all visitors towards expanding knowledge on the field of aviation which covers both the technological aspects as well as the historical aspects. Sri Lanka Air Force Museum is Sri Lanka’s only national museum dedicated to the field of aviation as well as the history of the Sri Lanka Air Force. The museum offers a unique insight not only into the history of the S.L.A.F. but also a comprehensive picture of aviation in general including the basics of aviation technology. Starting from the Royal Air Force (R.A.F.) operations during World War II to the combat operations of the S.L.A.F. in the recent past, the museum offers a detailed depiction of the evolution which has shaped the S.L.A.F. into the highly successful fighting force it is today.
After Lunch, University of Moratuwa will be visited.The University of Moratuwa, located on the bank of the Bolgoda Lake in Katubedda, Moratuwa is the most sought-after technological university in Sri Lanka. After the visit the group will be headed towards a private institute named as British College of Higher Studies. Kandy
After a delicious breakfast on Day 2, the group will be proceeding towards Kandy City on a 4 hours Journey. Reaching by Afternoon the group will have lunch in the center of the beautiful town.
The visit will be held at the sacredTooth Relic of Sri Lanka. The Sunday school of this temple is well-known for it’s service on providing education related to Buddhism for students. The National Mobile Service Provider, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has embarked on a new initiative to provide free WI-FI service to Sri DaladaMaligawa , Offering an informative online guide to tourists who visit the historic temple. The New WI-FI service will facilitate inbound tourists who visit the temple to access the internet and will also enable them to use an interactive voice guide which would direct them through each part of the temple. This voice guide will be available in multiple languages, in order to cater to tourists from a variety of nationalities.
The latest institution added to the Dalada Shrine is the “Sri Dalada Museum”. Ever since the Tooth Relic shrine was established in Kandy, different grades of visitors and devotees, ranging from the Royalty and Heads of States to the poorest of the general public, have been offering various gifts to the Sacred Tooth Relic, and these were preciously protected in specially built store-rooms by the successive line of DiyawadanaNilames. The Dalada Museum is located on the first and the second floors of the new wing .
The display on the first floor consists of historical records from the time when the Tooth Relic was brought to Sri Lanka to the time of the British rule, the 1765 Dutch Plan of the Palace Complex, Lists of the Chief Prelates of the two monastic establishments of Malwatte and Asgiriya.
The photographic display includes some of the most important sites where the Tooth Relic was enshrined through centuries and a large array of pictures depicting the immeasurable damage caused to the Dalada Maligava due to the bomb blast. Among the items on view on the second floor are historical artifacts used in the daily ritual ceremonies of the Tooth Relic shrine, caskets, Buddha statues and typical Kandyan gold and silver jeweler studded with precious gem stones, all donated by the devotees. Also, on view on this floor are special exhibits of great historical and religious value. This visit will educate on the aspects of religion and cultural value of Sri Lanka portraying the different sectors of Education that Sri Lanka has put in practice.
The following visit will be to Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It attracts 2 million visitors annually.s Sri Lanka’s largest garden an elegant and spacious 147-acres (60-hectares) plenty of time is needed to stroll Peradeniya’s imposing Avenue of Royal Palms. There are some 4,000 different species of plants at Peradeniya Gardens. Absolutely sensational is the century old giant Javan fig tree, its tentacle like roots spread across the enormous area of about 1,800 square meters (19,375 square feet) a massive central trunk beneath the tree’s vast canopy ‘umbrella’. The Cannonball tree is also intriguing, with its cannonball-like fruit hanging off the trunk and large open, waxy pink-white flowers. So is the Double Coconut Palm, one of 200 types of palms displayed at Peradeniya – originating from the Seychelles, this tree produces the largest seed known. Its fruits take five years to mature.
The gardens showcase all of Sri Lanka’s flora and representative species from around the tropical world. Luminaries as varied as Queen Elizabeth II, Marshal Tito and Yuri Gugarin have planted trees to mark their visits to the garden. Depart from Kandy and head towards north central province of Sri Lanka (Anuradhapura).
Anuradhapura
After arrival toAnuradhapura starting off the day with great breakfast, lunch and plenty of rest the group will be led to a well-established University of Sri Lanka nameds as “RajarataUniversiy of Sri Lanka” located in the historic city of Mihintale, which is situated 14 kilometres away from the east of Anuradhapura, was established on 31 of January, 1996. It envisages to highlight the city, Mihintale, which marks the inception of the Sri Lankan social development, as one of the most prominent centre of the present academic arena in the Sri Lankan history. Through this, it is expected to produce virtuous, intellectual and competent citizens for the needs of the 21 st century.
Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, A mini escapade will be done throughout Anuradhapura to look on ruins and ancient aspects of the town. The ruins of Anuradhapura are one of South Asia’s most evocative sights. The sprawling complex contains a rich collection of archaeological and architectural wonders: enormous dagobas (brick stupas), ancient pools and crumbling temples, built during Anuradhapura’s thousand years of rule over Sri Lanka. Today, several of the sites remain in use as holy places and temples. Return to Hotel and Relax over dinner and other leisure activities.
Jaffna
Jaffna Town Sri Lanka : Jaffna is the cultural town of the Tamil people of Sri Lanka. Jaffna District, the northernmost region of the Island of Sri Lanka, is one of the oldest habitation sites in Lower South Asia, populated by Tamil speaking people. The Sunday School of St.Anthony’s Shrine and church is a must visit when visiting Jaffna to witness different cultural dimensions of Sri Lanka. The final visit would be to Jaffna Hindu College. It was founded in 1886 by a group of Hindu people who wanted an English language alternative to the Christian missionary schools.
